About Us
First Generation Professionals supports law students who are the first in their families to pursue a college or professional degree, as well as those from lower-income, working-class, or non-white-collar backgrounds. We are committed to building a welcoming, inclusive community and addressing the many challenges that first-generation professionals confront, both in law school and during their careers. FGP organizes events and programs designed to provide first-gen law students with information and resources that many non-first-gen students already have access to. This includes academic support, guidance for the summer job search, and mentorship from experienced students and attorneys. FGP also provides its students with a network of fellow first-gen students and graduates, and those students remain part of this network of accomplished FGP alumni well beyond 3L.
