Welcome to IRAP @ University of Chicago Law School

We are one of the 25+ chapters of the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP).

IRAP trains the next generation of lawyers to be informed legal advocates and community leaders with deep respect for human rights and the rule of law.

About Us

The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) organizes law students and lawyers to develop and enforce a set of legal and human rights for refugees and displaced persons. Mobilizing direct legal aid, litigation, and systemic advocacy, IRAP serves the world's most persecuted individuals and empowers the next generation of human rights leaders. IRAP UChicago is one of IRAP's many student chapters across the country.

Since its founding in 2008, IRAP has helped resettle over 4200 refugees and their families to 18 different countries and has trained over 2000 law students and lawyers in the process. As one of IRAP's many student chapters across the country, IRAP UChicago contributes to IRAP's work and promotes its mission and vision.
