The California Law Students Association (CALSA) is an organization that supports and encourages students who are interested in pursuing their legal careers in California, connecting students with mentors who share their interests and California legal professionals.

The purpose of the organization is threefold:

1. To create a community of University of Chicago Law students who have connections to California or are interested in working in California post-graduation.
2. To establish professional relationships with alumni of the University of Chicago Law School working in the legal field in California and provide mentorship to our members.
3. To hold lunch talks and networking events where we invite attorneys from California to speak to our members about legal careers in California. Subjects may include navigating the legal market in California, preparing for OCI, applying to clerkships and public interest fellowships, and more.

Case Notes is the Law School's acapella group, offering a unique opportunity for law students to perform a vast range of repertoire, from jazz standards to pop classics.

Comprising up to 20 talented singers with a variety of musical backgrounds and experience levels, the group rehearses every week for two hours and participates in events such as the CLF auction and the LSA Valentine's Day Sale, as well as hosting the Spring Talent Show, open to all members of the law school community, and an end-of-year concert, performed by the group only. Case Notes further participates in LSSO fundraising and general legal education—first, through Valentine's Day singing grams in February to raise money for student organizations and law school social events, and second, through partnerships with other student groups to host guest speakers practicing at the intersection of law and the arts.

Overall, Case Notes gives law students an opportunity to bond with fellow singers and music lovers, to continue or begin singing in law school, and to contribute to the greater UChicago Law community. Auditions will be held within the first three weeks of each fall quarter and are open to all students. Depending on the needs of the group, additional auditions may take place.

The purpose of the Dallin H. First Generation Professionals supports law students who are the first in their families to pursue a college or professional degree, as well as those from lower-income, working-class, or non-white-collar backgrounds. We are committed to building a welcoming, inclusive community and addressing the many challenges that first-generation professionals confront, both in law school and during their careers. FGP organizes events and programs designed to provide first-gen law students with information and resources that many non-first-gen students already have access to. This includes academic support, guidance for the summer job search, and mentorship from experienced students and attorneys. FGP also provides its students with a network of fellow first-gen students and graduates, and those students remain part of this network of accomplished FGP alumni well beyond 3L.

LLSA offers programs that focus on professional and academic development, such as mock
interviews and mentoring. We also bring in speakers to discuss legal issues affecting Latin(x)
communities in the U.S. and abroad. LLSA keeps our members abreast of diversity scholarships,

The Muslim Law Students Association (MLSA) offers a wide range of programming to satisfy the diverse social, cultural, religious, and intellectual needs of Muslim students. The MLSA strives to introduce the Law School community to issues of importance to Muslims worldwide. We sponsor speakers on issues such as Islamic legal topics, church-state issues, civil rights, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and hate crimes. In order to achieve this we will invite civil rights lawyers, public officials, and prominent academics from across the nation. For 75 years, the National Lawyers Guild has aimed to represent progressive political movements and to protect human rights over property rights in the pursuit of social justice. The University of Chicago Chapter strives to inform and advocate for considerations of social and economic justice in the study of law, hopes to involve young lawyers in their professional and social duty to their community, and pushes for laws that protect the economic and social welfare of the people. The Law School's Peer Advisor Program aims to alleviate the anxiety associated with the law school experience and help every student achieve success at the Law School. Six third-year law students serve as Peer Advisors under the direction of the Sr. Associate Director of Advising and Wellness Programs to help first-year students navigate life at the Law School. Peer Advisors are available during office hours to consult on class preparation, time management, life at the Law School and general support. They also coordinate several programs throughout the year for first-year students, offering tips on preparing for class discussions, exam preparation, events during each quarter, course selection, and other related topics.

The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies is a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the current state of the legal order. It is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be. The Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application through its activities.

This entails reordering priorities within the legal system to place a premium on individual liberty, traditional values, and the rule of law. It also requires restoring the recognition of the importance of these norms among lawyers, judges, law students and professors. In working to achieve these goals, the Society has created a conservative and libertarian intellectual network that extends to all levels of the legal community.

The purpose of this organization shall be fourfold. First, to create a community for those interested in international arbitration. Second, to assist them with their professional development and employment searches by providing networking opportunities, educational opportunities, and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals in this field through lunch talks and speakers. This organization will connect students with UChicago Law alumni practicing in the international arbitration area. Third, to prepare for the annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition in the spring. This organization will host events introducing the Vis Moot competition, providing training and organizing mock rounds for the UChicago Vis Moot team. Fourth, to create synergy between UChicago Law and the Chicago International Arbitration Center, which is in the process of development and will be launched in 2023, by providing UChicago Law students with opportunities to learn and contribute to the work they are undertaking.

LSI exists to serve as the Law School home for all students committed to the unity and protection of the Jewish People, the flourishing of the State of Israel, honoring the memories of the pioneers and heroes of the Zionist dream, offering educational forums to understand and experience Israel and combat antisemitism. LSI seeks both to promote the awareness and application of these principles by fostering thoughtful discourse on Israel’s legal, political, and cultural dimensions.

LSI is a non-partisan organization dedicated to creating an environment that engages with a wide array of perspectives. It hosts frequent events and guest speakers on the Law School campus, covering issues of culture, history, current policy, and academic concern.
