Academic and Transfer Evaluation FAQ's

Where can I view my transfer credit information?

The Office of the Registrar will notify you of your awarded transfer credit prior to the start of Autumn registration, which will begin late August. After that, any time you want to view your credit information and degree progress, you can login to https://lawdegree.uchicago.edu with your CNet and password. The transfer credit information will be listed at the bottom in the Class History section. You will see a box similar to the example below showing semester hours, quarter hour conversion, list of classes accepted, any other notes we want to communicate.

Once you start registering for classes, the classes will begin to populate in the degree audit. The degree audit tool will help you stay on track by calculating credit types (i.e. Experiential Learning and Core) as well as credit limits (i.e. clinics and non-law classes).

I will be observing a religious holiday on the following date(s) and will not be able to attend class. Would it be possible to access recordings for the days I will miss class?

The Recording Request form for Observance of Religious Holidays includes detailed instructions as well as contact information in case you have any questions about this.

I know I need to be absent from class on a particular date in Autumn. Is there anything I need to do?

Per the ABA requirements for you to earn your degree, attendance in all classes is required. That said, a few, limited absences due to sickness or a significant, unavoidable conflict are understandable. If you do need to be absent, always notify your instructor as well as the Office of the Dean of Students.
